Position Summary

Citi is seeking an experienced Lead Data Platform Engineer Vice President to lead the design, development, and deployment of data platforms that support the organization's enterprise analytics capabilities. In this leadership role, you will oversee technical architecture decisions, manage cross-functional engineering teams, and ensure data platforms meet the highest standards for performance, reliability, and security. This position requires a strategic thinker who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities to drive digital transformation across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Lead the architectural design and implementation of large-scale, distributed data platforms and infrastructure
• Oversee engineering teams responsible for data pipeline development, data warehousing, and analytics infrastructure
• Define technical roadmaps and strategies for data platform evolution and modernization
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into platform capabilities
• Ensure data security, compliance, and governance standards are embedded throughout all platform components
• Drive optimization initiatives to improve platform performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Champion best practices in data engineering, system design, and software development across teams
• Partner with other technology leaders to integrate data platforms with enterprise systems and applications

Skills & Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership or architect roles
• Deep expertise in designing and building large-scale distributed data systems
• Proficiency with modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and big data frameworks
• Strong understanding of database architecture, data warehousing, and ETL processes
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams
• Experience navigating complex regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence across all organizational levels
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
