Junior System Engineer Microsoft 365 und Automatisierung (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential professional services organization in Hamburg seeking a Junior System Engineer specializing in Microsoft 365 and automation. In this role, you will support the operation, development, and automation of Microsoft 365, Azure, and identity environments.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the administration and evolution of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID, as well as hybrid identity and directory services
• Assisting with synchronization, user management, permissions, and implementing MFA and Conditional Access policies
• Administering Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies
• Supporting Exchange infrastructure administration—both on-premises and online—including mail flow, connectors, and migrations
• Analyzing manual processes and implementing initial automation solutions using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and REST APIs
• Developing and maintaining scripts and workflows for user provisioning, modifications, and offboarding, plus supporting interface integrations
• Troubleshooting synchronization, authentication, and permissions issues while providing 2nd- and 3rd-level support
• Contributing to IT projects and migrations, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external providers, and maintaining technical documentation

What We're Looking For

• Initial practical experience administering Microsoft 365, Azure, or Entra ID
• Foundational knowledge of Active Directory, hybrid identity environments, and Exchange
• Good PowerShell skills with interest in automation; ideally some experience with Microsoft Graph and REST APIs
• Interest in planning and executing IT and migration projects
• Initial experience analyzing and resolving synchronization, authentication, and permissions problems
• Ideally knowledge of Exchange on-premises and hybrid Exchange scenarios, as well as SQL, LDAP, PKI, or additional programming languages
• Eagerness to learn with an independent, structured, solution-oriented working style and strong communication skills
• Very good German language skills in speaking and writing, minimum C1 level or equivalent, ensuring reliable internal communication
• Initial experience with incident, change, and problem management according to ITIL is advantageous
