Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential fintech organization in their search for a Senior AI Engineer to join their Berlin-based team. In this role, you will:
- Build and deploy AI agents that automate complex financial workflows
- Develop LLM-based systems using modern frameworks and prompt engineering with quality control
- Integrate AI capabilities with existing systems and APIs
- Optimize performance, cost, and reliability of AI features
- Own outcomes end-to-end, balancing speed with craftsmanship
- Collaborate with domain experts and provide tight feedback loops
What We're Looking For
Our client needs someone with:
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering and AI
- Background in early-stage startups or scale-ups where you wore multiple hats (coding, testing, UI, integrations)
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar): APIs, prompt engineering, structured outputs, agent frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph
- Active use of AI coding tools like Cursor, Codex, or Claude in your daily workflow
- Experience with RESTful APIs, cloud services, and testing/QA for AI systems
- Strong Python skills with proven coding ability
- Comfort with ambiguity and high ownership: ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Deliberate transition from software engineering into AI development
This is a hybrid position based in Berlin.
