We are representing a confidential SaaS organization operating in South Africa. Our client is building digital infrastructure that helps organizations streamline complex administrative processes through AI-supported tooling and expert oversight. They combine automation with human judgment to deliver a scalable platform serving thousands of programs.

As their recruitment partner, Get A Job.ai is seeking a Junior Full Stack Engineer to join a lean, high-impact engineering team. You'll work directly with experienced technical leadership and gain hands-on exposure across backend, frontend, and AI systems in a production environment.

This role is designed for early-career engineers who want real responsibility, close mentorship, and a clear growth path toward senior engineering positions.

Responsibilities

• Ship end-to-end features across the full stack, including React, Node/Express, Postgres, and AWS infrastructure
• Build and improve AI pipeline components through prompt engineering, context management, and evaluation workflows
• Debug and resolve production issues using monitoring tools such as Sentry, CloudWatch, and database diagnostics
• Collaborate directly with technical leadership and domain experts to translate user problems into working solutions
• Use AI-native development tools (Claude Code, Cursor) as part of your daily engineering workflow
• Participate in code reviews, incorporating feedback and progressively contributing technical guidance to peers
• Take on increasing ownership of features and technical problems as your skills develop
• Build with a user-first mindset, ensuring software meets real-world needs in production

What We're Looking For

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience, or recent graduate with strong technical projects (personal projects, internships, university work, or open-source contributions all count)
• Solid fundamentals in TypeScript and/or JavaScript
• Curiosity and willingness to work across the stack: React, Node/Express, Postgres, AWS
• Strong desire to learn how production systems are built, deployed, and maintained
• Self-motivation and the ability to investigate problems independently rather than waiting for detailed instructions
• Comfortable receiving technical feedback and using it to improve your skills
• Familiarity with AI-native development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor
• User-focused approach to building software that works for real people
• High coachability and willingness to take on increasing responsibility

Nice to Have:

• Experience with AI tools or LLM APIs through university projects, side projects, or internships
• German language skills at B1 level or above (product and customers are German-speaking; team works bilingually)
• Side projects, open-source contributions, or independently built work you can demonstrate
