PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) invites you to join our team as a Janitor serving our West Carson facility in Los Angeles County. In this full-time role, you'll maintain the grounds and buildings that provide safe, dignified housing for vulnerable residents across our supportive communities.
What You'll Do
- Maintain facility grounds and building exteriors, ensuring all common areas remain clean and free of litter and debris
- Prepare vacant apartment units for incoming residents through comprehensive cleaning, including appliances, fixtures, and all interior surfaces
- Clean and service common area bathrooms, floors, and shared spaces using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Operate pressure washing equipment to sanitize sidewalks, parking areas, dumpster zones, and garage structures on a regular schedule
- Remove graffiti and address vandalism immediately to maintain facility appearance and safety
- Conduct routine inspections to verify compliance with facility safety and cleanliness standards
- Respond promptly to maintenance and custodial requests from staff and management
- Support other buildings within our portfolio when assistance is needed
- Report and document any emergency or safety concerns for timely follow-up
- Participate in on-call rotation schedules as assigned

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistently high-quality work

- Proactive approach to identifying and solving facility maintenance needs
- Professional integrity and ethical judgment in all situations
- Preferred: High school diploma or GED; two years of multi-family residential building maintenance experience

Required for This Position
- Valid U.S. employment authorization and ability to pass a background screening and drug test
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it
- Negative tuberculosis test result
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Proof of vehicle insurance and ownership for work-related travel
- Ability to qualify for PATH's commercial vehicle insurance coverage

Employment Details
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The salary range is $21.97 to $26.36 per hour, paid over 24 pay periods annually. Driving is an essential job function. Work is performed on-site in Los Angeles, California.
