Internship AI & Automation – Energy (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential cleantech organization at the forefront of Europe's energy transition. They're building innovative software solutions that connect renewable energy systems and help households achieve climate-neutral living. We're seeking a motivated intern to join their AI & Automation initiatives within their Energy product team in Berlin.

This is a hands-on role where you'll drive automation projects from analysis through implementation, working directly with operations and process teams to build solutions with measurable impact. You'll gain deep experience with automation platforms, AI tools, and real-world energy systems while contributing to meaningful climate action.

Responsibilities

• Own automation projects end-to-end, from analyzing operational processes to implementing technical solutions
• Experience operational processes firsthand to deeply understand workflows before automating them at the individual customer level
• Collaborate with Process and Operations teams to identify challenges and build data-driven solutions
• Utilize automation platforms (such as n8n, Make, Zapier) and coding agents to connect systems and develop application prototypes
• Establish robust data structures and ensure comprehensive documentation of automations in knowledge databases
• Independently evaluate emerging AI tools and automation platforms, proposing improvements to existing processes

What We're Looking For

• Currently studying Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable field—or tech-savvy with demonstrable experience
• Practical hands-on experience with automation platforms (e.g., n8n, Make, Zapier)
• Strong hands-on mentality with the ability to proactively drive initiatives forward
• Available for at least 5 months, ideally 6 months
• Fluent German communication skills (minimum C1 level) required for this position
• Eager for a steep learning curve and open to feedback and continuous improvement
• Prior experience in the energy sector is a plus, but motivation and willingness to learn are what truly matter
