Head of Data / Tech / E-COM (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential consumer goods organization in München that needs a hands-on data and technology leader to unify their infrastructure and drive AI-first automation across the business.

In this role, you will:

• Build and implement a unified cloud data platform that consolidates marketing, product, finance, and supply-chain data currently siloed across separate systems
• Enable self-service business intelligence capabilities, moving teams away from Excel-based workflows toward automated KPI dashboards
• Deploy production-ready AI use cases across five core business areas: marketing, product development, supply chain, customer service, and finance—delivering measurable reduction in manual effort through automated reporting and quality assurance
• Act as the technical bridge between business stakeholders and implementation, translating requirements from team leads and executive leadership into pragmatic solutions
• Provide direct line management for a two-person e-commerce team, prioritizing roadmap items, allocating resources, and developing technical capabilities to reduce agency dependence

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings:

• Approximately 4–7 years of hands-on experience working with data platforms and e-commerce environments, ideally in direct-to-consumer settings
• Proven track record building unified data architectures and self-service BI systems—you have successfully consolidated multiple data sources end-to-end into a single platform
• Demonstrated experience deploying AI-driven process automation into production environments independently
• A hands-on, results-oriented approach with the ability to deliver outcomes without a large engineering team supporting you
• Fluent German language skills and willingness to work on-site in the München area three days per week
• Experience within the Shopify ecosystem (theme development, Liquid templating, app integrations, API work) is a strong advantage for building internal e-commerce capabilities
