Head of Brand

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech platform connecting founders with capital. Our client operates a two-sided marketplace that's profitable, self-funded, and built by a senior team that moves quickly. They need a Head of Brand to own how they show up in the world—the positioning, the content, the video, and the small team that executes it all.

This is a player-coach role where both halves matter. You'll set brand strategy and execute it yourself: writing posts, cutting video, directing shoots, and managing a team of content creators. The goal is singular—when founders or investors search for fundraising guidance, your work gets quoted back as the authoritative source.

Responsibilities

• Own positioning, voice, and visual identity across all channels including website, social feeds, and newsletter
• Produce weekly founder and company posts on LinkedIn and X, plus regular newsletters and a quarterly industry report
• Run end-to-end story shoots with founders and investors: booking, prep, shoot direction, and video editing
• Plan and measure sponsorships and retargeting campaigns against inbound performance
• Manage and develop content interns, editing their work and growing them into full-time roles
• Structure content for discoverability by AI answer engines and journalists, with SEO fundamentals in place
• Report to co-founders with strategic recommendations while maintaining creative control

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record building and running a brand end-to-end with measurable before-and-after results you can cite from memory
• Hands-on creator who still writes posts, cuts video, and directs shoots—not just briefs others
• Experience managing a small team, freelancers, or interns, with at least one hire you developed into a bigger role
• Strong writing ability in a restrained, professional register with published work to show
• Experience running paid campaigns including sponsorships and retargeting, or owning the brief and results
• Understanding of how AI answer engines and journalists select sources, with content shipped for that audience
• Ability to analyze performance: explain exactly why one piece succeeded and what you changed after a failure
• Bonus: presence in the founder/VC community, personal following among target audience, podcast or newsletter production experience, on-camera comfort

Meetings batch on Mondays and Thursdays; the rest is deep work time.
