Head of Analytics – Commercial

We are representing a confidential energy sector organisation in their search for a Head of Analytics - Commercial. Our client is a rapidly growing energy retailer that has transformed the UK market through innovative pricing strategies and data-driven customer engagement. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead analytics for commercial operations at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead and set priorities for a high-performance team of commercial and marketing data analysts across UK operations
• Deliver strategic analytics to guide customer understanding, competitive positioning, and inform senior leadership decisions across UK and global markets
• Enable rapid pricing operations in response to industry changes, ensuring competitive offers for millions of customers while maintaining regulatory compliance
• Develop and maintain KPIs and intuitive dashboards across the business, including churn analysis, marketing campaign performance, and lifetime value calculations
• Coordinate global data teams, balancing local operational needs with international opportunities and standardisation
• Combine hands-on technical work with team leadership to deliver measurable business impact

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing a high-performing data team
• Hands-on expertise with modern data platforms and analytical tools, particularly SQL and Python
• Strong track record of delivering actionable insights that drive measurable business outcomes
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership
• Strong commercial acumen, preferably in pricing, margin optimisation, and/or growth analytics
• Passion for both technical data work and team leadership
• Experience with data platform technologies such as dbt, Databricks, Python pandas, and SQL in Jupyter notebooks is highly valued
