Growth Marketing Manager – Automation (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Growth Marketing Manager – Automation to own and evolve their customer lifecycle automation systems. This role sits at the intersection of marketing operations, CRM architecture, and AI-native automation—designed for someone who wants to replace manual processes with intelligent, scalable systems.

Our client operates a self-service growth model where automated journeys carry users from signup through activation to expansion. You'll be responsible for the marketing automation infrastructure that makes this possible, with HubSpot at the center and AI agents built natively into the flow.

Responsibilities

• Own the marketing and sales automation stack, with HubSpot (Marketing + Sales Hub) at the centre, maintaining clean integrations with product usage data, billing systems, website and trial funnels
• Design, build and continuously improve automated journeys across the entire customer lifecycle: trial onboarding, activation nudges, lead scoring and routing, upsell and cross-sell sequences, win-back and churn prevention
• Systematically replace manual, recurring tasks with automation across marketing and sales functions
• Build AI agents natively into funnel processes for qualification, enrichment, routing, response drafting and content generation—not as bolt-on features
• Maintain data integrity across lifecycle stages, attribution models and product-usage signals flowing between systems
• Establish measurement frameworks for every journey: baseline metrics, success criteria and structured iteration plans
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Growth Analytics and eCommerce teams to remove manual steps from their workflows

What We're Looking For

Core Requirements:

• Several years of experience in marketing and sales automation, lifecycle marketing, marketing operations or CRM—ideally within B2B SaaS with self-service or product-led growth models
• Deep, hands-on HubSpot expertise: workflows, custom properties and objects, lists, lifecycle stages, reporting—you understand its limitations and workarounds
• Fluent German and English (customer-facing content is primarily in German)
• Analytical mindset with low tolerance for manual, repetitive processes
• Self-starter capable of managing multiple parallel workstreams to completion
• Genuine curiosity about AI agents and automation—you've already built working implementations with LLMs, not just prototyped

Two Possible Focus Areas—Strong in One, Comfortable in the Other:

Focus A – Technical / AI Automation:

• You architect HubSpot systems: data models, custom objects and properties, APIs, webhooks, integrations
• You build automations beyond HubSpot using workflow tools (n8n, Make, Zapier) and LLM/agent frameworks
• Comfortable with APIs, JSON and sufficient Python or JavaScript to ship independently
• You've built working agentic automations in production, not just experimental prototypes

Focus B – Lifecycle & Content Automation:

• You own journey content: onboarding series, activation emails, in-product messaging, nurture and reactivation tracks
• You write German copy that sounds authentically human and use AI to scale content production without losing quality
• You design journeys around actual user behavior and understand which messages move metrics at which moments
• Relentless about testing subject lines, timing, triggers and sequencing

Valuable Additional Experience:

• Integrating product usage data into CRM-driven journeys (PQL scoring, usage-based triggers)
• Working with data warehouses, reverse ETL or event pipelines
• Migrating or rebuilding CRM setups rather than only maintaining existing systems
