Database Administrator (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization in the Starnberg area seeking a Database Administrator to shape their digital data landscape. In this role, you'll take ownership of database administration and optimization for MS SQL Server environments, contribute to modern data warehouse and big data solutions, and bring your expertise to an agile Scrum team.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support database servers and instances running MS SQL Server with continuous performance optimization
• Manage and evolve the data warehouse system, including migration projects and optimization of databases and data models
• Design and implement reliable backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity
• Ensure smooth operation of high-performance, highly available database infrastructure
• Collaborate within a Scrum team to develop and support innovative big data solutions

What We're Looking For

• Completed vocational training as an IT specialist, degree in computer science, or comparable qualification
• Ideally, initial professional experience in database administration
• Strong knowledge of relational database systems, particularly MS SQL Server; familiarity with MySQL is a plus
• Proven experience in database performance optimization, including index tuning and query optimization
• Strong analytical skills with excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic, structured approach to work
• Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborative teamwork in an agile environment
• German language proficiency required for this role in Starnberg
