The YMCA of Southwest Florida is hiring a Part-Time Group Leader to supervise and engage young participants in our Before and Afterschool program at Fort Myers Middle in Cape Coral. In this hands-on role, you'll create a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment where students can learn, play, and grow during before and after school hours.
About the Role
As a Group Leader in our Cape Coral morning and afternoon program, you'll report to the Program Director and Site Coordinator while overseeing the daily care and supervision of enrolled participants. This is a perfect opportunity for someone passionate about youth development and creating positive experiences for school-age children.
What You'll Do
- Directly supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants
- Plan and lead age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages active participation from all students
- Monitor participant behavior and provide positive guidance and mentorship
- Communicate regularly with parents, school staff, and your supervisory team
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program space
- Support program objectives and comply with YMCA policies and procedures

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive in dynamic environments
- Physical capability to engage in active play and supervision
- Reliability and flexibility with before and afterschool schedules

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
