Summer Youth Camp Counselor (seasonal, part-time)

About the Role

As a Summer Youth Camp Counselor with HealthFitness, you'll play a vital role in creating an engaging, supportive environment where young people discover the joy of fitness and wellness. Your work will directly shape how participants connect with their health and build lasting habits. Whether leading activities on-site or assisting with digital engagement, you'll help translate HealthFitness's mission of community health into real, meaningful experiences for every camper in your care.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and mentor campers during fitness activities, games, and wellness programming
• Implement age-appropriate exercises and movement activities that build confidence and enthusiasm
• Foster a positive, inclusive camp culture where all participants feel welcomed and encouraged
• Monitor camper safety and wellbeing throughout the day
• Assist with camp logistics, scheduling, and participant communication
• Support both on-site and online camp components as needed
• Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure a smooth, impactful camp experience

What We're Looking For

• Genuine enthusiasm for youth development and fitness
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with young people
• Ability to maintain energy, patience, and positive attitude in a group setting
• Prior experience in youth mentoring, coaching, counseling, or camp environments (preferred)
• Basic understanding of health and fitness concepts
• Reliability and commitment to the full summer season
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain before the camp starts (may be required)
