Grants Officer, US Programs

AFSC is seeking a full-time Grants Officer, US Programs to support our mission-driven work in Middle East, Philadelphia County. In this role, you'll manage grant funding streams, strengthen relationships with funders, and ensure our programs have the resources needed to create lasting social change.

About the Role

As Grants Officer for our US Programs, you'll play a vital role in securing and managing the philanthropic resources that fuel our peace and justice initiatives. This position requires strong grant management skills, funder relationship-building, and a deep commitment to AFSC's values of nonviolence and social transformation.

What You'll Do

• Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities aligned with our US-based programs
• Prepare compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications
• Manage grant reporting, compliance, and funder communication throughout award cycles
• Track grant deadlines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure program accountability
• Build and maintain relationships with foundation officers and grant-making organizations
• Collaborate with program directors and finance teams to support funding strategy
• Monitor trends in philanthropic funding and identify emerging grant opportunities

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of grants management, grant writing, or grant administration experience
• Strong writing skills with ability to craft clear, persuasive grant narratives
• Proficiency with grant management databases and Microsoft Office suite
• Experience managing grant compliance and reporting requirements
• Knowledge of nonprofit funding landscapes and philanthropic trends
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities
• Commitment to social justice, peace-building, and AFSC's Quaker values
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and external stakeholders
