Role Overview

The Golf Course Worker I role at River Oaks Golf Course provides hands-on support for daily upkeep of the entire property. Working as part of the Sandy team, you will help preserve the playing surfaces, landscaping, and overall appearance that golfers and visitors expect. This full-time outdoor position suits individuals who enjoy active work in a natural setting and take pride in contributing to a well-maintained recreational facility near River Oaks Golf Course.

Core Duties

• Mow fairways, tees, approaches, and rough areas using walk-behind and riding equipment according to seasonal schedules
• Rake bunkers, repair divots, and fill ball marks to restore surface integrity after play
• Operate string trimmers, edgers, blowers, and other light-duty machinery to keep borders and cart paths neat
• Assist with hand-watering, hose placement, and basic irrigation system checks to support healthy turf growth
• Remove debris, leaves, and litter from playing areas, greens surrounds, and parking zones
• Help set up temporary markers, signage, or ropes as directed by supervisors for course flow and special activities
• Perform routine cleaning and minor upkeep of tools and equipment so everything remains ready for the next shift

What We're Looking For

• Physical ability and stamina to complete outdoor manual tasks across a full workday in varying weather conditions
• Willingness to learn safe operation of grounds care equipment, including mowers and utility vehicles
• Basic awareness of landscaping principles or a genuine interest in turf and outdoor maintenance practices
• Strong reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow clear daily instructions from course leads
• Team-oriented attitude that supports smooth coordination with fellow Golf Course Worker I colleagues and related staff
• Valid state identification or driver’s license and the capacity to arrive on time for scheduled shifts at River Oaks Golf Course
