Your Responsibilities

• Operate mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles to cut fairways, tees, greens, and rough to precise heights
• Assist with irrigation checks, sprinkler repairs, and adjustments that promote even turf growth
• Apply fertilizers, sand, and topdressing materials under guidance from senior crew leaders
• Rake bunkers, edge cart paths, and clear debris so hazards and walkways remain safe and attractive
• Perform routine equipment cleaning, fueling, and basic mechanical checks after each use
• Monitor playing surfaces for disease, pests, or wear and report concerns promptly to supervisors
• Support special projects such as renovation work, drainage improvements, or event preparations on the golf course

Skills & Qualifications

• Solid grounding in ordinary turfgrass practices or prior outdoor maintenance experience preferred for Golf Course Worker II candidates
• Comfort operating powered landscape equipment and following manufacturer safety guidelines
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks outdoors in varying weather
• Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, soil conditions, and fertilizer-application timing
• Reliable attendance, clear communication with co-workers, and willingness to learn advanced course-care techniques
• Valid state driver’s license may be required for certain vehicles used around River Oaks Golf Course
