Full-Stack Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential construction technology client based in Hamburg. In this Full-Stack Engineer role, you will:

• Develop new features for a property renovation management system using AI-assisted development workflows with advanced coding tools
• Bring pull requests reliably to release: reviewing code, running tests, resolving conflicts, and ensuring only clean, correct code goes live
• Serve as the critical quality gate for AI-generated code—identifying subtle errors that automated pipelines may not catch
• Maintain codebase consistency and maintainability through shared patterns and clean data modeling
• Own the journey from idea to release, ensuring features reach users quickly and with high quality

What We're Looking For

Our client needs an engineer with:

• Experience developing AI-first with Claude Code or comparable AI coding agents, critically evaluating generated code rather than accepting it blindly—this is foundational to the role, not a bonus
• Deep full-stack TypeScript expertise: confident in frontend (React) and capable of writing and correcting backend code including APIs, database queries, and services
• Strong judgment for code review: ability to read pull requests critically, provide clear constructive feedback, and take responsibility for what gets released
• PostgreSQL and data modeling skills: understanding of transactions, indexes, foreign keys, and migrations, treating schema as a long-lived contract
• Clean Git practices: comfortable with rebase, merge conflicts, CI pipelines, and branch-based workflows
• Team discipline: ability to work within existing team patterns rather than pushing personal preferences in every PR
• Current residence in Hamburg: this is not a remote position; you must already live in Hamburg or surrounding areas and be willing to work from the Winterhude office multiple times per week
• German language proficiency at C-level for internal communication and understanding domain requirements

Nice to have: Experience with Fly.io/Docker, external API integrations (CRM or accounting systems), attention to UI consistency and design systems, or interest in the construction/renovation domain.
