Base-2 Solutions, LLC is hiring a Front-End Software Engineer 3 with security clearance for our DoD contract position located in West Bethesda, Montgomery County. This full-time role offers the opportunity to develop mission-critical web applications for a government technology platform on a modern development stack.
About the Role
You'll serve as a Front-End Software Engineer 3, taking a senior technical position in building and enhancing web-based applications that support federal defense initiatives. While the work is primarily conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, Maryland, occasional remote flexibility may be available based on project needs and deliverables.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement responsive, user-centered web interfaces for DoD systems using modern frameworks
- Develop and maintain front-end components, ensuring code quality and adherence to security standards
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Lead code reviews, establish best practices, and provide technical mentorship to team members
- Implement security protocols and ensure compliance with federal security requirements and DoD directives
- Troubleshoot and optimize application performance across browsers and devices
- Participate in testing, debugging, and continuous improvement of applications throughout their lifecycle
What We're Looking For
- Current or ability to obtain Secret-level (or higher) security clearance
- 3+ years of professional front-end software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks
- Demonstrated expertise in HTML5, CSS, and responsive design principles
- Experience building accessible, performant web applications at scale
- Knowledge of version control, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of security best practices and government compliance requirements
- Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
