Forward Deployed Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential government technology services organization seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their team in Grafenwohr, Germany. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will own the full lifecycle of mission-critical software implementations.

In this position, you will:

• Embed directly with end users to conduct research and rapidly prototype solutions tailored to operational needs
• Architect and execute innovative software solutions designed specifically for government missions
• Lead secure code delivery from concept through production deployment, ensuring scalability and maintainability
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering skill development and best practices
• Conduct forward-looking technical research to stay ahead of platform trends and emerging capabilities
• Collaborate closely with product leadership to translate strategic vision into technical reality
• Ensure code quality, security standards, and maintainability through rigorous reviews and testing
• Tackle the most complex technical challenges to maintain project momentum and drive mission outcomes
• Lead customer-facing sessions to demonstrate progress and gather feedback

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required for this on-site position
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, computer science, or related technical fields
• Deep expertise with enterprise data platforms and implementation methodologies
• Proven track record leading technical implementations in government or highly secure environments
• Ability to design system architecture, mentor teams, and write production code—often in the same day
• Strong technical leadership skills with experience guiding small, senior engineering teams

Strongly preferred:

• Previous experience as a Forward Deployed Software Engineer or equivalent technical implementation role
• Platform-specific expertise in modern data integration and orchestration tools
• Military, Special Operations, or Law Enforcement background
• Experience working in small, agile teams with direct customer interaction
