Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Opportunity

We are representing a confidential ERP automation SaaS organization that is scaling rapidly across Europe. Our talent team is searching for a Forward Deployed Engineer who excels at translating complex enterprise challenges into production-ready AI systems—fast.

This is not a traditional engineering seat. You'll be embedded directly with customers across Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, working alongside a senior consultant and peer engineers to deliver working solutions in days, not quarters. You own the technical delivery end-to-end: architecture, integrations, agent logic, deployment, and iteration based on real user feedback.

Responsibilities

• Sit with end-users, process owners, and client technical teams to understand the actual workflow and underlying business problem
• Design and ship the technical solution: architecture, data model, integrations, agent and workflow logic—delivered in days and weeks
• Demo working software early and often; incorporate real-time feedback into rapid iterations
• Make real-time trade-offs on speed, quality, and cost; decide when to build, buy, or configure existing platform capabilities
• Own observability and evaluation once systems are live; iterate until reliability is proven in customer conditions
• Build trust with client engineering and security teams around API access, data flows, deployment, and reviews
• Extract reusable patterns—components, prompt structures, integration approaches—to accelerate future engagements

What We're Looking For

• Proven builder with real shipping experience—you've taken systems from zero to production and maintained them in the wild
• Fluent with modern AI tooling: LLM APIs, tool and function calling, agent frameworks, evaluation frameworks, and prompt engineering as a discipline
• Strong backend skills in TypeScript; comfortable with APIs, authentication, queues, and integrating with legacy systems
• Daily, fluent use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to ship meaningfully faster than traditional workflows
• Customer-facing instinct—you enjoy being in the room with users, asking sharp questions, and pushing back respectfully when needed
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity; able to drop into an unfamiliar domain and return with a working prototype
• Fluency in English required; German is a plus
• Must have: hands-on experience automating business processes in the ERP space (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar), or a background in consulting, solutions engineering, or founding and building products end-to-end
