Financial Controller (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential aerospace technology client based in Munich seeking a Financial Controller to help scale and mature their financial operations. This is a critical role for someone who wants to build robust controlling processes while supporting the implementation of a new ERP system across the organization.

Our client operates in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where you'll have direct impact on financial infrastructure and business insights. You'll work closely with accounting and cross-functional teams to establish scalable processes that support rapid expansion.

Responsibilities

• Establish and scale controlling processes including templates, governance frameworks, reporting calendars, and responsibility definitions suitable for a growing organization
• Lead the finance workstream for ERP system implementation, covering process design, user acceptance testing, cutover preparation, training, and post-launch stabilization
• Ensure data quality and consistency across reporting and ERP systems, including chart of accounts alignment, cost objects, and reporting dimensions
• Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure reliable monthly close processes, including cut-offs, accrual logic, and reconciliation drivers
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles including annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning while continuously improving planning methodologies
• Build and maintain controlling dashboards, reports, and KPIs that enable data-driven decision-making across cost centers and project perspectives

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or comparable field
• Several years of experience in controlling, including budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting, ideally in a scaling or project-driven environment
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4 HANA, particularly FI/CO processes; implementation or rollout experience is a strong advantage
• Strong analytical skills, structured problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP-based reporting, with the ability to translate complex data into clear management insights
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset, able to work effectively across functions
• Fluent German (required); English proficiency for daily collaboration is highly beneficial
• Located in or willing to relocate to Munich for primarily in-office work with occasional flexibility
