Disability Support Worker / Lifestyle Coach / – Part-Time at Te Roopu Taurima in West Harbour, Waitakere, West Auckland.

Position Summary

We are seeking experienced and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team at Te Roopu Taurima. As a key member of our kaupapa Māori disability support provider, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities to live meaningful and independent lives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Support people with intellectual and physical disabilities to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and home maintenance.
• Facilitate social activities and community engagement opportunities to promote independence and inclusion.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized support plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in disability support or a related field is required.
• A current New Zealand driver’s license is essential for this role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Knowledge of Māori cultural values and practices would be advantageous but not mandatory.
