Estimator/Senior Estimator – Energy & Natural Resources

Join Turner & Townsend in Calgary, Canada as an Estimator or Senior Estimator, where you'll lead cost estimation and project planning for energy and natural resources initiatives in a growing consulting practice.

Role Overview

This is a full-time position based in our Calgary office, serving clients across the energy and natural resources sector. As an Estimator or Senior Estimator, you'll be central to how projects are priced, bid, and delivered. You'll combine technical knowledge with financial acumen to support our consulting teams and help clients manage project costs from conception through completion.

What You'll Do

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for energy and natural resources projects using industry-standard tools and methodologies
• Develop tender documentation and bid submissions that compete effectively in the market
• Conduct site assessments and project reviews to understand scope and identify cost drivers
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and supply chain teams to gather data and validate assumptions
• Track actual project costs against estimates and provide variance analysis and reporting
• Build and maintain databases of historical cost information and vendor pricing
• Present estimates and cost forecasts to clients and internal stakeholders
• Support business development and proposal strategy for senior leadership

Requirements

• Proven experience as an estimator in energy, construction, consulting, or a related field
• Strong proficiency with spreadsheet software and estimating tools and platforms
• Knowledge of construction scheduling, quantity takeoffs, and cost analysis methodology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent estimates while meeting tight deadlines
• Professional designation such as ACCE, CIQS, or equivalent is a strong asset
• Familiarity with energy sector or natural resources project delivery preferred
