ERP Rollout Project Manager – Manufacturing & Supply Chain

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential European food manufacturing organization in their search for an ERP Rollout Project Manager with deep expertise in manufacturing and supply chain environments. This is a critical role within an international IT transformation programme, managing the technical delivery of ERP implementations across multiple production sites and countries throughout Europe.

Our client is modernising their enterprise systems landscape and harmonising processes across their operations. As the IT Project Manager for these rollouts, you will coordinate infrastructure, deployment, cutover and go-live activities, ensuring that manufacturing sites have the technology foundations—connectivity, devices, access and integrations—needed to support new ERP capabilities.

This position requires up to 30–40% travel across European locations and project offices. You must have the legal right to work in Germany; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT delivery within ERP implementation and rollout projects from planning through go-live, stabilisation and handover to support teams
• Own and maintain the IT project plan, ensuring alignment with broader business and functional workstreams across the rollout programme
• Coordinate internal IT teams, business stakeholders, local manufacturing sites, external implementation partners and service providers
• Translate rollout requirements into structured project activities, milestones, dependencies and deliverables
• Ensure infrastructure and site technology requirements are addressed, including network connectivity, user access provisioning, handheld devices, scanners and printers
• Coordinate testing cycles, deployment schedules, site readiness assessments, cutover planning and go-live execution within your assigned IT scope
• Manage project scope, timelines, resources, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies with appropriate governance, reporting and escalation
• Support business readiness activities, training coordination and post-go-live stabilisation alongside the wider rollout team
• Apply established project management standards and contribute to continuous improvement of delivery practices across the IT portfolio

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience managing complex IT projects, including hands-on involvement in end-to-end ERP implementations or multi-site rollouts
• Ideally, proven experience delivering ERP rollouts across multiple sites, countries or business units within an international organisation
• Solid high-level understanding of ERP systems architecture, including how modules, integrations and business processes interconnect
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply chain and logistics processes—ideally gained within food production, FMCG, process manufacturing or comparable industries
• Knowledge of the technology dependencies involved in ERP rollouts: infrastructure, connectivity, access management, device provisioning and system integrations
• Experience coordinating testing, deployment, cutover, go-live and post-implementation stabilisation activities
• Excellent project planning, stakeholder management, risk management and problem-solving capabilities across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
• Structured, hands-on and solution-focused approach with the ability to operate effectively within a complex matrix organisation
• Project management certification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP or APM PPQ is desirable
• Working knowledge of common project management and reporting tools
• Strong command of spoken and written English is essential; knowledge of German is an advantage
• Must hold the legal right to work in Germany—visa or work-permit sponsorship is not available
