Position Summary

This Environmental Inspector position is central to SPATCO's mission of maintaining environmental compliance across fueling locations. Your work directly impacts how well fueling facilities adhere to environmental safety requirements and prevents ecological harm. You'll be the technical authority responsible for evaluating sites, documenting environmental conditions, and guiding operations toward full regulatory compliance. This role combines field inspection work with detailed record-keeping and regulatory expertise.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental inspections at fueling facilities throughout Miami and Miami-Dade County
• Evaluate site conditions and document findings in comprehensive inspection reports
• Identify areas of non-compliance with federal and state environmental regulations
• Review and assess spill prevention systems and operational effectiveness
• Collaborate with facility managers on developing and implementing corrective action plans
• Maintain detailed records and inspection documentation for regulatory review
• Advise operations teams on environmental safety best practices and compliance measures
• Follow up on previous compliance issues to verify corrective actions are effective

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Keen attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
• Working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards
• Ability to work independently and manage inspection schedules effectively
• Preferred: Prior experience in environmental inspection or facility assessment
