Extended School Day Instructor 1 Pool – 2026-27 School Year

Join Denton Independent School District as an Extended School Day Instructor for the 2026-27 school year. This full-time position supports elementary students in grades K–5 through afternoon enrichment and academic programming at one of our extended school day sites in Denton, Denton County.

About the Role

As an Extended School Day Instructor with Denton Independent School District, you'll lead small groups of children in structured learning and recreational activities following the regular school day. This role is part of our Extended School Day program, which provides academic reinforcement and age-appropriate enrichment to elementary learners across the district. You'll work collaboratively with the Extended School Day Coordinator and school staff to create an engaging environment where students strengthen classroom skills and explore new interests.

What You'll Do

• Instruct assigned groups of elementary students (grades K–5) in academic-focused lessons and skill-building activities
• Plan and deliver daily programming that supports student learning and complements classroom instruction
• Supervise students during transitions, snack time, and recreation periods
• Communicate with classroom teachers and families about student progress and engagement
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
• Participate in program activities and special events as assigned

• Experience working with elementary-age children in educational or childcare settings
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to work effectively with diverse learners and adapt to individual needs
• Dependable attendance and professional conduct

Position Details

This is a full-time, nonexempt position with 183 duty days per school year. The minimum hourly rate is $15.40. You will report to the Extended School Day Coordinator and serve as a member of the Extended School Day team at Denton Independent School District.
