Credit Analyst

Join Upgrade as a Credit Analyst in our Orange County office and help drive sound lending decisions for thousands of auto loan customers. In this full-time position, you'll evaluate auto loan applications, structure competitive pricing, and partner with dealership networks to deliver responsible credit products.

About the Role

In this Credit Analyst position based in Orange County, you'll be at the center of Upgrade's auto lending operation. Working a standard 40-hour week with rotating morning and evening shifts and occasional weekend availability, you'll review incoming auto loan applications from our dealer partners, assess borrower creditworthiness, and make lending decisions that align with our risk and compliance standards. This is hands-on credit work where your analysis directly impacts both customer outcomes and business performance.

What You'll Do

• Underwrite and process auto loan applications submitted through our dealership partner network
• Evaluate creditworthiness, risk profile, and loan eligibility based on applicant data and credit files
• Price loan offers competitively while managing risk exposure and market positioning
• Maintain and grow relationships with auto dealer partners, serving as a trusted resource for their lending needs
• Collaborate with our Dealer Development team and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
• Troubleshoot dealership concerns and identify alternative solutions to loan issues that arise
• Review loan documentation and third-party data to support informed credit decisions
• Coordinate with Operations to resolve questions and challenges during the funding process
• Track regulatory and economic trends that affect credit policy and lending practices

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in financial services, credit analysis, auto lending, or a comparable field
• Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail in credit file review and loan documentation
• Ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
• Effective communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, plus confidence in presentations
• Natural collaborator who builds strong working relationships across teams and with external partners
• Self-motivated professional who sets ambitious goals and persists through obstacles
