About the Role
We're looking for a Tech Lead to guide our Android engineering efforts and shape the core product experience for Speechify's mobile platform. In this full-time position based in Scottsdale, Maricopa County, you'll own technical strategy, drive architectural decisions, and mentor a talented engineering team building the future of accessible reading technology.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and implementation of core Android features that power our text-to-speech platform
- Define technical architecture and engineering standards for our Android product roadmap
- Mentor and develop Android engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless reading experiences across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and other platforms
- Optimize performance, stability, and code quality across the Android application
- Drive technical decisions that impact millions of users relying on Speechify for their daily reading
What We're Looking For
- Proven leadership experience building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams
- Deep expertise in Android development with strong command of modern mobile frameworks and best practices
- Strong technical foundation in software architecture, design patterns, and system design
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience shipping production mobile applications at scale
- Passion for creating technology that removes barriers to learning and accessibility
