About the Role

As an Endoscopy Technician at Intermountain Health Logan Regional Hospital, you'll play a vital role in our endoscopy department, assisting physicians and advanced practice providers during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. This position combines technical expertise, clinical knowledge, and compassionate patient interaction to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient endoscopy procedures in a modern healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare endoscopy equipment, instruments, and supplies according to established protocols and manufacturer specifications
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and other endoscopic procedures
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the clinical team
  • Maintain a clean, sterile environment and adhere to infection control standards and safety protocols
  • Process, clean, and sterilize endoscopes and instruments following established reprocessing guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with patients to reduce anxiety and ensure their comfort throughout procedures
  • Document procedure information accurately in the electronic health record system
  • Respond to emergencies and assist with basic life support when needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current certification as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR current Endoscopy Technician certification
  • Knowledge of endoscopic equipment and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care
