Employment Attorney (4-7 years) – Partnership Track

About This Opportunity

We are representing a boutique employment law practice in Pasadena, California, seeking a mid-level Employment Attorney with 4–7 years of experience who is ready to advance beyond a traditional associate role. This position offers a clear pathway to partnership for the right candidate—an opportunity designed for litigators who want more than just billable hours and distant partnership timelines.

Our client is a collaborative firm where quality matters more than volume. You'll work directly with firm leadership on complex employment litigation while gaining increasing autonomy, mentoring opportunities, and meaningful input into firm strategy and growth.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex employment litigation matters with increasing independence
• Conduct depositions and manage motion practice
• Develop case strategy in collaboration with firm leadership
• Draft motions, briefs, and discovery responses
• Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining organization and attention to detail
• Mentor and guide junior attorneys
• Communicate effectively with clients, building trust and explaining complex legal issues clearly
• Participate in firm growth initiatives and strategic planning
• Attend regular team meetings and case strategy sessions

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
• 4–7 years of employment litigation experience (plaintiff-side strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated experience with depositions, motion practice, and case strategy
• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills
• Trial experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities
• Proactive, solutions-driven mindset with passion for employee advocacy
• Interest in developing toward a partner-level role with clear partnership potential

Pay

The client offers a salary range of $175,000 - $300,000, along with bonuses, commissions, paid time off, paid sick time, employer-paid insurance for employees, profit-sharing plan, and partnership potential. This is a full-time position available as remote or in Pasadena, CA.
