North Allegheny School District seeks an experienced Elementary Principal to lead McKnight Elementary School in our growing suburban community near Pittsburgh.
The Opportunity
We are hiring a full-time Elementary Principal to serve as the instructional leader and administrator for McKnight Elementary School. As a key member of our North Allegheny School District leadership team—which serves over 8,500 students across our dynamic suburban Pittsburgh region—you will shape the educational experience for our student community and foster a culture of academic excellence, equity, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide educational leadership and administrative oversight for daily school operations, including curriculum development, instruction, and assessment practices
- Manage budget planning, resource allocation, and facility operations to support teaching and learning
- Hire, supervise, evaluate, and develop teachers and support staff to strengthen instructional quality
- Build collaborative relationships with families, community partners, and district office to support student success
- Monitor student progress, analyze performance data, and implement evidence-based strategies to close achievement gaps
- Ensure compliance with state and federal education regulations, district policies, and safety protocols
- Foster a positive, inclusive school culture where all students feel supported and valued
What You Bring
- Valid state principal or administrative certification (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Demonstrated experience in school administration or significant classroom teaching background
- Strong instructional knowledge and commitment to evidence-based teaching practices
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with budget management, data analysis, and strategic planning
- Passion for student-centered leadership and building inclusive school communities
