Join HCA Houston Medical Center as a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), serving patients in Greater Third Ward, Houston. This is a part-time opportunity to deliver specialized perioperative nursing care in one of the region's leading health systems.

What This Role Involves

As an RN-CVOR at HCA Houston Medical Center, you'll provide essential nursing support throughout cardiovascular surgical procedures. You'll work alongside cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, maintain sterile environments, and manage complex surgical instruments and monitoring equipment specific to cardiac interventions. Your expertise in cardiovascular nursing will be central to every procedure.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Prepare cardiovascular operating rooms, including surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during cardiac and vascular procedures
• Monitor and manage sterile fields throughout operations
• Respond to intraoperative patient needs and complications with critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Maintain accurate operative records and documentation
• Support pre- and post-operative patient care protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to uphold safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Previous operating room nursing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and surgical procedures
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification preferred or willingness to pursue
