Director, Value Engineering (DACH) – CPG/Retail

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential enterprise software organization seeking a Director of Value Engineering to lead their CPG and Retail practice in the DACH region. Based in Munich, you will hold full operational and leadership responsibility for driving customer value realization and enterprise AI adoption across major retail and consumer goods brands.

As a player-coach, you will lead a high-performing team of 6–7 Value Engineers operating at the intersection of process transformation, executive consulting, and AI-driven product execution. Your responsibilities include:

• Drive Business Outcomes: Take full ownership of ARR targets, renewal forecasts, and net retention across the DACH CPG and Retail sector, ensuring high forecasting accuracy and steering accounts toward tangible, realized value
• People Leadership: Recruit, onboard, lead, and mentor your Munich-based team, maintaining high standards through proactive coaching, performance management, and career progression planning
• Executive Advisory: Serve as an executive sponsor on critical DACH deals, joining your team in the field to lead high-impact executive meetings, value sprints, and strategic transformation workshops
• Enterprise AI Champion: Partner with customer executives to position process intelligence, digital operational excellence, and next-generation AI adoption
• Ecosystem Strategy: Cultivate executive-level relationships across regional partner networks, services teams, and account executives to align customer strategies with AI solutions
• Thought Leadership: Standardize and scale best practices, reusable solution blueprints, and industry-specific frameworks internally and across external customer communities

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Language Skills: Native or business-fluent German (spoken and written) and fluent English are required to interface effectively with executive decision-makers across the DACH market
• Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Munich, with willingness to travel to customer sites across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as needed
• Leadership Experience: Proven track record leading pre-sales, management consulting, or value engineering teams within Enterprise SaaS, Enterprise AI, or Management Consulting
• Domain Expertise: Deep familiarity with supply chain, procurement, fulfillment, and operational processes within the CPG and Retail industries
• People Management: Demonstrated ability to directly manage or mentor a team of 6–7 high-performing individual contributors, with a strong passion for team coaching and talent development
• Commercial Acumen: Strong business acumen with experience owning ACV, net retention, and renewal pipeline metrics
• Executive Presence: Outstanding executive presence with a proven track record of building C-level relationships across global brands and regional retail leaders

Pay
