Director Strategic Operations (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for a Director of Strategic Operations. This is a high-impact position working directly alongside C-suite leadership to transform strategic vision into measurable execution. You'll serve as a force multiplier for the executive team, creating the governance frameworks and operational discipline that drive organizational alignment and value creation.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, requiring someone who can move seamlessly between Board-level reporting, cross-functional program management, and leadership effectiveness initiatives. You'll own the leadership operating system while maintaining the agility to tackle emerging priorities across the business.

Responsibilities

• Design and continuously refine the leadership operating system, including executive governance cadence, strategic forums, and planning offsites
• Drive agenda planning, decision tracking, and follow-through across the executive team, ensuring clear ownership and timely escalation of critical issues
• Lead annual planning processes in partnership with Finance and functional leaders, translating company objectives into coherent plans with measurable targets
• Track strategic priorities and value creation initiatives organization-wide, creating visibility on progress, dependencies, milestones, and execution risks
• Enhance CEO effectiveness by preparing executive meetings, customer engagements, strategic discussions, and leadership communications
• Coordinate high-quality materials, reporting, and follow-up for the Board of Directors and private equity stakeholders
• Strengthen organizational alignment through clear executive messaging and more efficient, AI-enabled ways of working

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in business operations, executive office, transformation, program management, consulting, Chief of Staff, or comparable leadership-adjacent roles
• Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional initiatives and working closely with executive leadership teams
• Excellent planning, organizational, and program management skills combined with disciplined follow-through and strong execution focus
• Strategic judgement with the ability to quickly understand business priorities, connect strategy with execution, and influence without formal authority
• Analytical and financial fluency, including confidence working with financial models, KPI packages, and board-level information
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to distill complex information into clear, decision-ready executive materials and presentations
• Fluent English (written and spoken) with high ownership and sound judgement handling confidential and sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a SaaS, software, or technology environment
• Background with Board or private equity preparation, reporting, and governance
• Fluency in German
• Experience improving leadership productivity through AI-enabled tools and efficient operating rhythms
