About the Role
As Director of Development, you'll oversee comprehensive fundraising and donor engagement strategies that fuel Hillel's mission-driven programming. Working alongside a collaborative team, you'll connect passionate alumni, parents, and community partners with meaningful ways to invest in the future of Jewish student life.
What You'll Do
- Identify, cultivate, and steward major gift prospects and long-term donor relationships
- Develop and execute annual fundraising campaigns aligned with Hillel's strategic priorities
- Coordinate grant research, applications, and reporting for foundation and institutional support
- Plan and execute high-impact fundraising events that engage donors and build community
- Manage donor communications, gift recognition, and stewardship activities
- Build partnerships with institutional leadership, boards, and volunteer committees
- Track fundraising metrics, maintain donor databases, and report on development outcomes
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in higher education fundraising or nonprofit development
- Demonstrated success with major gift cultivation and campaign leadership
- Strong relationship-building skills and genuine passion for Jewish engagement
- Self-directed initiative with the ability to thrive in collaborative, mission-driven environments
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Experience with donor databases and fundraising software
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
