About the Role

As Assistant Director, you'll serve as a core member of our professional leadership team, partnering with Hillel of San Diego staff to advance our mission of fostering Jewish identity, community, and values among students at UCSD. Working closely with the Executive Director and across all departments, you'll lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of student-facing programming that builds meaningful connections and strengthens Jewish engagement on campus.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute student programming including cultural, religious, educational, and social events that serve and engage diverse Jewish students
• Build and mentor student leaders, supporting their growth as engaged community members and organizational advocates
• Manage day-to-day student engagement initiatives and oversee program operations across the UCSD campus
• Collaborate with professional staff, student organizations, and campus partners to expand Hillel's reach and impact
• Develop and execute recruitment and retention strategies that reflect our commitment to inclusive Jewish community building
• Contribute to strategic planning and program assessment to strengthen Hillel's work at UC San Diego

What We're Looking For

• Genuine passion for Jewish communal life and commitment to serving Jewish students
• Prior experience in student development, campus ministry, Jewish education, or nonprofit program management
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust across diverse student groups
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a campus or student-facing environment
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field
