DevOps / SRE / DevSecOps Engineer (AWS) – Remote, Latin America

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential software consultancy serving clients across multiple industries. We are seeking an experienced DevOps/SRE/DevSecOps Engineer to join their growing team in a fully remote capacity from Brazil. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact projects while collaborating with distributed teams across the Americas.

As a consultant in this position, you will contribute to challenging infrastructure and security initiatives that directly impact client success. You'll work with modern cloud technologies and be part of a team that values continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure using services including ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, and S3
• Operate Aurora/PostgreSQL databases in production environments, managing multi-AZ failover, read replicas, and monitoring replica lag
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines with robust deployment automation and tested rollback procedures
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or similar tooling
• Conduct load testing and operate services against defined latency SLOs and error budgets
• Support SOC 2 audit evidence collection and respond to client security review requirements
• Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and conduct thorough root-cause analyses
• Apply security best practices including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance hardening

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, S3)
• Demonstrated experience operating Aurora/PostgreSQL in production, including multi-AZ configurations and read replica management
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration using ECS/Fargate
• Proven track record building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with deployment automation and rollback capabilities
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms
• Load testing experience using k6 or similar tools, with understanding of SLOs and error budgets
• Security-first mindset with experience in vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance practices
• Background supporting SOC 2 or similar audit processes and security reviews
• Experience with incident response and on-call support
• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to overlap with US business hours
• Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with S3 Object Lock and long-term archival for compliance retention
• Background supporting secure multi-tenant environments (e.g., PostgreSQL Row-Level Security)
• Experience with database migration tooling and expand/contract schema change patterns
• Experience in compliance-sensitive or audit-heavy domains such as fintech or telecommunications
