Data Platform Engineer Working Student (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology consulting firm seeking a working student to support their data platform engineering team. In this role, you will:

• Support the design and development of cloud-native data platforms and lakehouse architectures for internal and client projects
• Contribute to implementing multi-tier data architectures (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers), including automated data ingestion workflows
• Assist with developing data governance concepts, including access control and permission models
• Help automate deployments using asset bundles and CI/CD pipelines
• Support the development of data quality frameworks and monitoring solutions for production environments
• Contribute to technical documentation of platform architectures and internal best practices
• Participate in building internal tooling and demonstration projects to strengthen the practice area

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an IT-related degree programme such as Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Science, or related discipline
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
• Interest in data lakehouses, data governance, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD practices
• Basic understanding of data modelling and data integration processes (ETL/ELT)
• Experience with Databricks and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is advantageous
• Familiarity with Git and version control is desirable
• Independent, structured working style with strong teamwork and communication skills
• Excellent German and English language skills (at least C1 level in both)
• Ability to work from the Munich office at least 50% of the time
