Customer Success Application Engineer (EMEA)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential industrial software organization that is building data infrastructure at the edge for manufacturing environments. Our talent team is seeking a Customer Success Application Engineer based in Germany to support EMEA customers through technical implementations, proof-of-concept projects, and production deployments.

This is a customer-facing technical role where you'll configure software solutions, validate requirements, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure customers realize measurable value from their investments in industrial data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Validate customer requirements for proof-of-concept and production implementations of industrial data platform products
• Configure software during proof-of-concepts, customer pilots, and production deployments
• Lead assigned technical implementation activities and ensure contracted deliverables are completed successfully
• Develop solution approaches that help customers maximize value from platform capabilities
• Maintain internal solution libraries, deployment best practices, reusable configurations, and technical documentation
• Provide Level 2 technical support including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and customer issue resolution
• Support sales engineering teams with technical architecture reviews, proposal inputs, RFI/RFP responses, and demonstrations
• Provide field feedback to product and development teams on customer requirements, market gaps, and enhancement opportunities
• Support webinars, customer meetings, partner enablement, and customer user group activities as needed

What We're Looking For

Must Have:

• Professional experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment in Application Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Controls, Industrial IT/OT, or related technical role
• Hands-on experience implementing or supporting software, infrastructure, automation, IIoT, analytics, or shop-floor solutions in manufacturing
• Strong technical understanding of network protocols, system architecture, Linux-based systems, databases, and customer deployment environments
• Experience with product configuration, technical troubleshooting, and customer-facing implementation or technical support
• Working knowledge of scripting or coding using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
• Understanding of containerized and cloud/hybrid infrastructure technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work directly with customers, technical teams, sales teams, and partners
• Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Fluency in German and English

Nice to Have:

• Experience with industrial data platforms, OPC/UA, PLC/SCADA systems, or edge connectivity use cases
• Exposure to pre-sales support, solution demonstrations, technical proposal review, or RFI/RFP participation
• Experience supporting partners, value-added resellers, webinars, or customer focus groups
• Ability to translate field observations into clear product feedback and best-practice documentation
• Experience with industrial protocols, connectivity standards, or OT/IT environments
• Passion for solving complex technical problems and helping customers realize business value
