About the Role
The Appleton Area School District is hiring a dedicated Cross Categorical Special Education Paraprofessional to join the team at Highlands Elementary School beginning August 24, 2026. In this hands-on role, you will work alongside teachers and special education staff to help students across a range of disability categories access their education and reach individual goals. The schedule is approximately 35 hours per week, with a starting wage of $17.50 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed special education teachers in delivering individualized instruction and support.
- Work directly with students who have cross categorical needs, adapting assistance to each learner.
- Reinforce academic, behavioral, and social-emotional skills throughout the school day.
- Help implement accommodations and modifications outlined in student plans.
- Support a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment at Highlands Elementary School.
- Collaborate with school staff and communicate student progress as directed.
