About the Role

The Harris County Attorney's Office is recruiting an experienced paralegal to provide comprehensive litigation support to the Affirmative & Special Litigation Division. You will contribute to high-stakes cases spanning diverse legal matters while working alongside senior attorneys who handle some of the county's most significant legal challenges. This position combines independent case management with collaborative problem-solving on matters affecting county policy and operations.

What You'll Do

  • Manage case files, evidence databases, and court documents for state and federal litigation
  • Conduct legal research and prepare written analyses to support attorney work product
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents
  • Organize, review, and index discovery materials to support case strategy
  • Coordinate with opposing counsel, court personnel, and government clients to advance case progress
  • Track court deadlines, filing requirements, and procedural compliance across multiple matters
  • Support trial and hearing preparation by organizing exhibits, witness information, and case materials

What We're Looking For

  • Paralegal certification, degree, or documented professional litigation experience
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines
  • Precision with detail and commitment to accuracy in legal documentation
  • Professional judgment and ability to work effectively with attorneys, staff, and stakeholders
