About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology consulting organization in their search for a Controller to lead core accounting operations and build scalable financial infrastructure. This is a hands-on, strategic finance leadership role for someone who can balance technical accounting excellence with people leadership and operational execution in a high-growth environment.

The Controller will oversee financial reporting, month-end close, compliance, audit coordination, and system administration while partnering closely with cross-functional teams. This is a remote opportunity open to candidates throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

• Oversee preparation of accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Lead and manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Enhance and optimize accounting and financial reporting systems
• Serve as NetSuite System Administrator (strongly preferred)
• Support revenue recognition and customer invoicing processes, ideally within professional services

Technical Accounting & Controls

• Establish and maintain well-documented accounting policies and procedures
• Research and provide guidance on technical accounting matters related to contracts and business agreements
• Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to mitigate financial risk
• Ensure alignment between financial systems and evolving business processes

Compliance & Audit

• Lead annual financial audits and coordinate external audit activities
• Oversee preparation and filing of income tax, gross receipts tax, and sales tax returns
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirements

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred)
• CPA strongly preferred; CMA a plus
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally within small to mid-sized, high-growth organizations
• Demonstrated experience managing external audits
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting
• Hands-on ERP experience; NetSuite administration strongly preferred
• Proven ability to effectively lead and develop accounting teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $160,000–$200,000 (combined On-Target Earnings including base salary, bonus, and other incentives), plus employee benefits, paid time off, and 401(k) with employer contribution. Actual compensation varies based on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
