About This Role

Our talent team is representing a confidential retirement services organization in their search for a Compliance Manager. This position plays a vital role on a committee that meets weekly to oversee retirement plan operations, ensuring ongoing compliance with plan documents, Internal Revenue Code requirements, and ERISA regulations. You'll work directly with plan sponsors and participants while managing critical fiduciary oversight responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to plan sponsor and participant inquiries regarding plan compliance and operations
  • Service accounts and oversee participant requests for assigned retirement plans
  • Monitor support and team email channels to ensure timely responses
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit recordkeeper access forms for assigned plans
  • Manage payroll uploads and monthly monitoring activities for assigned plans
  • Process force-out monitoring and confirmations
  • Complete annual validation forms and year-end compliance testing reviews
  • Coordinate necessary compliance corrections and confirmations
  • Provide documentation for annual 5500 audits and assist with sponsor communications
  • Prepare annual plan assessments and year-end oversight documents
  • Complete 404(a)(5) and 408(b)(2) assessments
  • Manage plan notice requirements, including annual and interim participant disclosures

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred
  • 2+ years of qualified retirement plan experience required
  • Professional certifications such as QKA, CPFA, CkP, or AIF strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with plan sponsors and participants
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks within established timeframes
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking capabilities
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat is a plus
