R&D Coordinator

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software organization seeking an experienced R&D Coordinator to lead two multidisciplinary development teams in Canada. This is a permanent, full-time role for someone who can own end-to-end delivery from planning through release and continuous improvement.

You will be accountable for the coordinated performance of two R&D teams, each comprising software developers, Scrum Masters, DBAs, and quality assurance professionals. This role combines people leadership, delivery management, agile execution, and operational discipline. You'll ensure these functions operate as one delivery unit rather than separate handoffs, turning priorities into realistic plans and removing obstacles to deliver secure, stable, high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead two multidisciplinary teams: Direct and coordinate developers, DBAs, Scrum Masters, and QA professionals with one shared plan and clear accountability across analysis, development, testing, release readiness, and follow-up
• Plan and deliver predictably: Translate priorities into executable delivery plans with clear scope, sequencing, dependencies, and risks; maintain realistic capacity plans and monitor progress to identify variance early
• Own quality throughout the lifecycle: Make quality a shared responsibility from requirements through production; ensure appropriate test planning, defect triage, root-cause analysis, and release-readiness decisions
• Lead people and build capability: Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback and coaching, and build collaboration across disciplines while maintaining high standards for ownership and execution
• Improve R&D operations: Standardize processes, working agreements, and delivery controls; define and monitor indicators covering predictability, capacity, quality, and flow; identify and correct bottlenecks and inefficiencies
• Collaborate across the business: Work closely with product management, operations, support, professional services, and other stakeholders on priorities, dependencies, release readiness, and client impact

• Proven leadership skills managing multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Strong expertise in project management, collaboration tools, and agile methodologies
• Strong focus on quality, customer outcomes, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of processes
• Experience with AI-assisted software development
• Clear, direct communication skills with ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Track record of delivering predictable outcomes while balancing delivery commitments, product health, technical needs, and team capacity
