About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team at Pact ELMO in Dunedin, Otago. As a Community Support Worker for Intellectual Disability, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve their goals and build independence within their communities.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Assist individuals in daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and home management
- Support clients in developing social skills and community integration through various activities and outings
- Facilitate access to educational, vocational, and recreational opportunities for clients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including healthcare professionals, educators, and family members
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records as required by the organization
What We're Looking For
- A compassionate and empathetic individual who is committed to making a positive impact on others' lives
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or a willingness to learn and adapt
- A valid New Zealand driver's license (as some travel may be required)
- Basic first aid certification is preferred but not mandatory
