Join City Year as a full-time AmeriCorps Academic Mentor in Claremont, Sullivan County. In this entry-level, paid position, you'll work directly with students to build academic confidence, remove barriers to learning, and ensure every young person has the support needed to graduate and succeed beyond high school.

About the Role

As a City Year AmeriCorps member, you'll serve as a dedicated advocate and mentor for students in local schools. Your presence and commitment make a real difference, providing individualized support that keeps students engaged, motivated, and on track toward their goals. You'll be part of a team of AmeriCorps members working collaboratively to strengthen classrooms, support school initiatives, and create a culture where every student feels seen and supported.

What You'll Do

• Provide one-on-one academic support and tutoring tailored to student needs and learning styles
• Build relationships with students to understand their strengths, challenges, and aspirations
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify students who need additional support and develop strategies to help them succeed
• Engage in classroom activities and school-wide initiatives to create a supportive learning environment
• Help students develop study skills, organizational strategies, and confidence in their abilities
• Document student progress and communicate regularly with teachers, families, and the City Year team
