CMO Partner Manager – Contract Manufacturing (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential wellness and nutrition organization based in Berlin seeking a CMO Partner Manager to lead strategic relationships with contract manufacturing partners. In this role, you will act as the critical bridge between internal R&D, Quality, and Operations teams and external manufacturing partners, owning product categories end-to-end while ensuring supply security, cost optimization, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Drive security of supply by guaranteeing product availability and eliminating stockouts through proactive risk management, robust capacity planning, and precise tracking of delivery timelines
• Manage and scale partner networks by continuously screening the market for new manufacturing capabilities, onboarding strategic CMO partners, and overseeing day-to-day partner operations
• Optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and commercial terms by building deep market insight into raw material and manufacturing costs to negotiate optimal pricing and agreements
• Direct New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept to market launch, ensuring cross-functional and partner alignment to meet project timelines
• Champion quality and efficiency by holding partners accountable to strict on-time in-full delivery (OTIF) metrics and swift quality resolution through corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes
• Bring external manufacturing best practices back to internal operations to drive continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement, category management, or contract manufacturing management, ideally within dietary supplements, FMCG, food, or pharmaceutical industries
• Experience with complex batch manufacturing environments is highly valued
• Strategic and commercial acumen with understanding of how procurement drives value beyond unit price through TCO models, raw material cost structures, and effective negotiations
• Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional initiatives such as new product introductions, with ability to bridge internal teams (R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Accounting, Legal) with external manufacturing partners
• Highly data-driven mindset with comfort handling large datasets and translating operational metrics into clear priorities, actionable insights, and negotiation leverage
• Process and system orientation with capability to refine workflows (P2P, SOPs, partner onboarding) and maintain data integrity
• Hands-on experience with modern ERP systems (e.g., Odoo or similar MRP platforms), project management tools (e.g., monday.com), and BI tools (e.g., Tableau or Salesforce)
• Fluent English (C1 level); German or Polish proficiency is a strong advantage
• Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin with hybrid work arrangement (one home office day per week)
