About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential legal technology organization in Berlin that is seeking a Senior Partner to join their founding team. This is a unique opportunity to combine traditional legal practice with cutting-edge AI automation while building meaningful equity in an innovative platform. Our client is transforming how recurring legal work is delivered through proprietary technology designed to serve PE/VC-backed companies and mid-market clients across Germany.

Responsibilities

• Transition your portable client book onto an AI-enabled platform and continue delivering high-quality legal services to your existing relationships
• Serve as a market-facing representative, leveraging your network in private equity, venture capital, and mid-market sectors to generate new business opportunities
• Identify and execute cross-selling opportunities for commercial and compliance services within your client base
• Work closely with the founding team to identify recurring legal matters suitable for platform automation
• Contribute to the strategic growth of the organization as it progresses toward institutional funding milestones
• Maintain client relationships while adapting practice delivery to a technology-enhanced model

What We're Looking For

• 12+ years of experience as a partner-level attorney at a recognised, top-tier German law firm
• Demonstrated portable client book valued at €1M or more annually
• German-qualified Volljurist with active Rechtsanwalt bar admission
• Established network in private equity, venture capital, and mid-market companies with proven cross-sell capabilities
• Client portfolio focused on PE/VC clients and their portfolio companies, including recurring and automatable matters such as commercial contracts, IT and data, corporate/VC advisory, or regulatory work (litigation-only practices are not suitable)
• Diversified client base across multiple sectors and company sizes, not concentrated in a small number of large institutional clients
• Achievable transition timeline of approximately six months, with manageable notice period and no restrictive non-compete clauses preventing book portability
• Native-level German fluency for client work; professional-level English required
• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as large language model assistants or legal AI platforms in daily practice
• Dr. iur. or LL.M. qualification preferred
• Germany-based and authorised to work in Germany; visa sponsorship is not available

Pay

Base compensation ranges from €200,000 to €300,000 annually, plus meaningful equity participation in the organization. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Berlin with preference for in-person Berlin presence.
