Clinical Trial Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential precision medicine organization that is advancing innovative clinical programs in ophthalmology. Our talent team has been engaged to identify an experienced Clinical Trial Manager to lead operational delivery of their retinal disease trials from startup through close-out.

This is a remote, full-time position based in the United States. You will own day-to-day execution for one or more clinical studies, manage vendor and site performance, and partner with Medical, Data, and Regulatory teams to ensure studies remain on time, on budget, and compliant with GCP standards.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operational delivery of one or more clinical trials, driving timelines, quality, and issue resolution from startup through close-out
• Develop and maintain study timelines, clinical plans, risk mitigation plans, and operational trackers; escalate issues proactively
• Manage CROs, central labs, imaging vendors, and site performance, holding vendors accountable to scope, quality, and timelines
• Track enrollment, monitoring visit completion, and data quality metrics; drive corrective action where needed
• Ensure studies are conducted in accordance with GCP, protocol requirements, and applicable regulations
• Maintain trial master file completeness and inspection readiness in partnership with study team members
• Track study-level spend against budget, flag variances, and support invoice and payment review
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align study execution with program strategy
• Provide clear, timely updates on study status, risks, and timelines to program leadership

What We're Looking For

• Typically 3–5 years of Clinical Operations experience, including hands-on study startup, vendor oversight, and compliance management
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree helpful but not required
• Strong command of clinical trial execution across study phases; ophthalmology or retina experience strongly preferred
• Proven experience managing CROs, vendors, and sites, with solid understanding of GCP and clinical trial regulations
• Regulatory agency inspection experience preferred
• Ability to lead cross-functional study teams and interface directly with external vendors and sites
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to balance competing priorities across studies
• High integrity, high reliability, and comfort operating independently
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Pay

This is a full-time position. The client has indicated a pay range of $128,000–$150,000 annually, plus equity and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and accrued paid time off. Actual compensation is based on skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other factors unique to each candidate.
