The Opportunity
U.S. Xpress is hiring Class A CDL drivers for full-time, over-the-road positions hauling dry van freight across the country. With 1 to 5 months of driving experience, you'll qualify to start immediately. Our pay structure rewards mileage and experience, with most drivers earning $1,500 to $1,700 per week. New hires receive a $4,000 sign-on bonus to help you get started. The typical schedule is 12 days out on the road followed by 2 days home, providing predictable home time and work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles safely and professionally across interstate routes
- Navigate routes averaging 2,000 miles weekly while maintaining delivery schedules
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain detailed logbooks
- Comply with all DOT regulations, including hours-of-service requirements
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, shippers, and receivers
- Report mechanical issues and assist with vehicle maintenance as needed
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with air brake certification
- Minimum 1 to 5 months of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT medical examination
- Commitment to a 12-out/2-home work schedule
- Strong safety record and professional demeanor
